The latest Freemasonry find from online internet auction site eBay is this small but beautifully crafted menu, created for our Provincial Grand Lodge Banquet in June 1899.
The menu, just 20cms tall and 9cms wide has spent it whole life in Brigg, where the banquet was held at the Angel Hotel on Wednesday June 7th.
The PGM at the time was the Earl of Yarborough, who was PGM from 1895 until 1936, and one of only 17 Freemasons to have held the title between 1792 and the present day.
The list food offered was extensive, as you’ll see from the pictures – it must have been a busy time for the chefs!
The menu will now be preserved in our Museum of Freemasonry at Grantham.
