A new club called the Rough Ashlars has been formed to help Lincolnshire’s newer Freemasons get more from their membership.
Chairman Mike Coleman writes: “Welcome to Freemasonry and in particular to the Province of Lincolnshire. To assist you in the early stages of your journey, The Rough Ashlars is a Light Blue Club set up to support new and young Masons throughout the Province.
As your Initiation may be somewhat of a blur, we would recommend as early as possible that you visit another Lodge and witness the ceremony that you have been through. To enable you to do this The Rough Ashlars have regular visits to initiations, and we would encourage you to come along and meet members of the Club and new initiates.
What do we do?
We meet throughout the province and help new members navigate their first steps in Freemasonry by joining together for regular social events which can include anything from pub quizzes, brewery visits, go-karting along with anything else that the members wish to do. In addition, we visit Lodges on nights of initiation to welcome new members.
What does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. You are already a member. Some activities may require a ticket to cover the cost of admission but otherwise The Rough Ashlars is completely free.
We do however suggest that you purchase a specially commissioned Club Tie at a cost of £20, which by kind permission of the Provincial Grand Master, can be worn at meetings and social occasions.
Sounds great! What do I do next….
