Solomon’s Lead Editor Talks To Lincolnshire Mentoring Workshop

The lead editor of online learning resource Solomon, Paul Harper, has travelled to Sleaford to talk about the resource to a mentoring workshop audience of more than 50 brethren. He explained how his involvement had begun, and the way the resource had been developed, and how he hoped it would be enhanced. Paul, who lives in Cottingham near Hull, will be making a second appearance at a similar workshop taking place in Scunthorpe on April 6th. The workshops are part of a series of four organised by Provincial Mentor David Buckenham, taking place at Lincoln, Sleaford, Scunthorpe, and Bourne. More than 200 will have attended once the programme is complete.
David said Paul’s willingness to attend had been a real benefit to the brethren attending. He said: “Being able to hear about this wonderful resource from a man who has played such an key role in its development was a real bonus for Lincolnshire. I’m sure the brethren who heard him will have seen what a valuable resource has been created, and how easy it is to use.”
Nick Brown, a past master from Paulinus Lodge in Lincoln, led some interactive work about how to access and navigate through Solomon, using it to find an answer to the question ‘why do we wear white gloves?’
Stuart Pearcey, from St Lawrence Lodge, spoke about social media, and how to get started with it. David said: “Brethren are interested in the value of social media, getting started and the continuous management thereafter which causes some concern. I’m hopeful that with some support and positive results more Lodges will be utilising Websites, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp more frequently, which can only be beneficial to all.”
