Skegness Freemasons of Lumley Lodge have helped to sustain one of the seaside town’s traditions by giving the town’s Silver Band a donation of £625.
The money was raised from the raffle at a ‘white table’ event attended by almost 90 people, where the band entertained with Christmas music during the evening.
Skegness Freemason Simon Noden, who will become the Master of Lumley Lodge for the second time in January, explained: “A white table event is an opportunity for potential Freemasons to come along and share an evening with us to find out more about us and what makes us tick.We had a marvellous time, and it was a real pleasure to watch our current Master Wayne Lagden hand over the money to the band, which was formed in 1928.”
