Paulinus Lodge brethren, family, and friends enjoyed a night of horse racing at York, Warwick, Southwell, and Musselburgh – all without leaving the Lincoln Masonic Centre, writes Lodge Social Committee rep Peter Hull.
The bar was open and betting was enthusiastic, but limited to a maximum 50p – but that didn’t deter the cheering support for the horses, the moans of anguish from the losers, or shouts of delight from those whose money was on a winner.
After several races the appetites had been worked up, and a supper of Lasagne and salad was supplied by our resident caterer Sue before a few more races were screened.
A great night was had by all, including the able team of Martin, Rosemary, Pauline, who provided the relevant equipment and expertise. All profits were supplemented by additional donations to Martin’s and St Barnabas Hospice.
