For the first time since its creation in 1930 members of Lincoln’s Ashlar Lodge have performed a quadruple passing ceremony.
The Lodge was given a dispensation to perform the ceremony because of the large influx of new members, with three awaiting raising, twice as many waiting initiation, interview, or proposal, and, before this ceremony, no fewer than eight awaiting passing.
Lodge Liaison Officer Stuart Pearcey said delivery of the ceremony had been smooth and carefully choreographed. “It appeared to have been effortless, which indicated that a great deal of planning and careful rehearsal had gone into achieving such a high standard. It’s hard to pick out individuals in an all-round excellent performance, but the Deacons Bros Darren Sewell and Damien Footsoy did a particularly fine job of guiding the candidates.”
The brethren passed were Brothers R Selway, K Hutchinson, C Glover, and S Jones, and in our picture they’re seen with the Deacons and WM Alec Clench.
