Lincolnshire’s Mark PGM Steve Hallberg made a special addition to his journey to Northamptonshire for the installation of a new PGM there by calling in to surprise Lincolnshire member Walter Beard and give him a 100th birthday card.
Walter, who’s been a Freemason for 44 years, had already received a card from the King and Queen, and thought the one from Lincolnshire’s Mark brethren was almost as special.
Steve said Walter, wh0 lives in Boston, was in good spirits, and, in his own words, has no intention of ‘departing from this mortal earth’ just yet.
Steve had been to Northampton with Membership Officer Phil Spicksley to see the Installation of the New Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Northampton, Huntingdon and Bedford R.W. Bro. John David Sowerby. The ceremony was carried out by the Deputy Grand Master R.W.Bro. Francis Charles Spencer.
