Charles Jackson of Cleethorpes-based Lord Worsley Lodge has been appointed as Assistant Provincial Grand Almoner to strengthen the Provincial team.
He’ll be working alongside Provincial Grand Almoner John Grimwood. Mrs Avis Slater, who has been assisting the Province for over 20 years alongside first the late Keith Slater and for the last eleven years John Grimwood, will continue to serve the Province as as a fully-trained and approved Visiting Volunteer.
Provincial Grand Master Dave Wheeler said: “Avis will also be available to provide advice and offer support to Almoners as she has done for many years. Had Coronavirus not forced postponement of the Provincial meeting in May, Avis would have joined us at the Provincial luncheon where we would have recognised her tremendous service to the Province. I hope that there will be an occasion where this can still be done in the not too distant future.
“I know that all who have worked with Avis will join with me in thanking her for her superb commitment to the Province of Lincolnshire over the past two decades. Finally, I congratulate Charles on his appointment to this very important office, and know that you will join with me in wishing him well for the future. Never has the work of the Provincial Almoner and his team been more relevant and necessary than it is at this current time.”
