Chris Tandy has joined the Provincial Communications Team as Assistant PCO to work alongside Provincial Communications Officer Stuart Pearcey, our Provincial Facebook specialist Simon Noden, Royal Arch social media front man Mike Haynes, and other volunteer ‘roving reporters’.
Chris is a member of Industry Lodge 4662 in Scunthorpe, where he will be WM in November. He already works on publicity for the Mark degree in the Province.
Stuart Pearcey said: “The world at large communicates in a very different way than it did even five years ago, and Freemasonry can’t ignore that shift. The things we must communicate, and the tools at our disposal to communicate them, are growing in number at an exponential rate. We need to adapt to meet changing expectations, and having more people to share the workload is an obvious step forward.
“Our Provincial priorities include the requirement to promote Freemasonry both to our members and to the general public. That’s not something that happens overnight; rather we achieve it through publishing a constant stream of positive news in whatever form we can to reach an ever-wider audience, both internally and externally. Examples of that include our picture taken at the December QC meeting, which was seen more than 102,000 times on Facebook.
“The Communication team members listed below are the messengers. Communication will always be a team effort. Every Freemason in the Province can be a member of that team by sharing their message by letting us know what’s going on; sending pictures of smiling people to illustrate that Freemasonry is fun; and keeping us posted about things our members need to know.”
