Homeless people in Scunthorpe are getting continued support from the Forge Project thanks to donations such as the one for £660 from Freemasons of Crowle-based Vermuyden Lodge.
The money was raised at the Lodge’s Christmas lunch, and the donation was handed over by Lodge Master Dave Torn, who’s been championing the Forge through his year in office.
During the year Crowle Freemasons have donated items including rucksacks, sleeping bags, warm clothing, boots, and toiletries.
Lodge member Paul Vollans is a patron of the Forge project and he has expressed his gratitude for the support it is receiveing from the Crowle Freemasons. He said: “On Wednesday there were 56 users for lunch and to use the facilities such as showers and clothes washing. That’s a typical day down at the Forge.”
