Freemasons of Grimsby’s Wellow Abbey Lodge have boosted the funds of Cleethorpes charity Friendship at Home with a donation of £500.
The money was handed over by the Lodge’s Master Peter Hart, who’d nominated Friendship at Home Charity to receive the funds from the Anderson Bates Masonic Benevolent. It was accepted by choir leader Joan Gorry and Katy Cross, one of the Community Link workers. Also present was Mike Sutton representing the Anderson Bates Masonic Benevolent Fund.
Friendship at Home members meet at the Annie Chapple Centre, at Aspen Court in Cleethorpes, and entertain people who live on their own or who are lonely or have early symptoms of dementia. They also visit other community centres locally or will make a visit to homes if necessary.
The Anderson Bates Masonic Benevolent Fund have given a £500 cheque to two Grimsby Masonic lodges each year to nominate a local Charity of their choice.
