Hamilton Lodge in Alford recently presented a cheque for £500 on behalf of the New Provincial Benevolent Fund to Hope House, a local independent Church with a community focus that provides support to those who are vulnerable, isolated or anybody else who wants to attend. A further £500 was matched by the Masonic Charitable Foundation. Hope House provides two supported living houses for men who are homeless and some basic support for street homeless. They have washers, dryers, meals, free telephone and internet to contact support, clothing, sleeping bags etc.
During the present pandemic much of the work has to be suspended but they are working with the Mablethorpe Town Council and have focused upon the delivery of hot meals to people’s homes who are housebound or having to isolate and cannot cook a meal. They have delivered well over 1300 meals directly to people’s homes. They also supply end of day food from local supermarkets and distribute it to the homes of people who are facing hardship at this time, doing around 20-30 parcels a day.
