More than 50 Freemasons were present to watch members of The Round Table Lodge of Lincolnshire, led by WM Shaun Whiting, pass Azam Zia to the degree of a Fellow Craft at Horncastle.
The large contingent of visitors swelling the numbers were treated to a ceremony of the highest standard, to which most surely aspire, according to PCO Stuart Pearcey. He said: “The ritual was delivered with a confidence which indicated that a huge amount of effort had been put in beforehand to make it right; effort that was rewarded on the night with a ceremony of which all those involved should be proud.”
The night wasn’t without a tinge of sadness, since it recorded the passing of the Lodge’s last Founder Member, Malcom Sidney Hoole.
Almost £400 was raised in the raffle, which will be used to provide Christmas gifts for the Lodge widows.
