The second NPBF cheque from Scunthorpe’s Industry Lodge 4662 has been presented to members of the Stroke Association in the Ashby area of Scunthorpe, who use music therapy to aid recovery, speech and memory.
The picture shows, from left: Ingrid Langton (Support Coordinator – North Lincs), WBro Les Brewer (Secretary), Alice (Support worker), WBro Phil Aitken (nominee of charity), Mrs Kate Aitken (Phil’s Mum and stroke survivor -see below), W Bro Ken Fountain (WM), Sarah (stroke survivor), Sean (Support worker) and Paul (stroke survivor).
The lodge selected this particular cause after the support given to Mrs Kate Aitken, mum of Past Master WBro Phil Aitken, after she had survived a stroke and made such a good recovery with the help of the Association. His mum was also nominated as the face of the Stroke Association for 2019 and attended a large gathering at the Albert Hall this year.
