The inaugural meeting of Lincolnshire Masonic Choir has been very positive, but there’s a gap – the choir needs more ladies to achieve a balanced sound.
Although more than 30 singers have taken an interest and an experienced Musical Director has come forward, a number of issues were raised that need to be resolved.
Says organiser Mel Murfin: “There is no negativity amongst those interested, and a lot of enthusiasm for the proposed choir to succeed. There are half a dozen ladies keen to participate, but more are needed to give a balanced sound.
“We appeal to the brethren to discuss the proposed choir with their wives and partners, and encourage them to come to the next meeting which will be called once some of the issues are resolved. A piano accompanist is also needed – anyone interested would be welcome to come along to see what is involved, and that includes more men who’d like to sing with us.”
