More than 80 brethren enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Lodge at Hundred of Elloe Lodge in Spalding, writes PGM Dave Wheeler.
Firstly, a magnificent presentation of the First Degree Tracing board was given by three Master Masons of the lodge.
Secondly, PGM Dave Wheeler presented a 60-year certificate to 91 year-old W. Brother Ken Burton, who had been initiated in to the Tutela Lodge no. 6559, Essex, on 14th December 1963.
Thirdly, two Grand Lodge Certificates were presented to brothers Clifford Abraham and Roy Coddington by the PGM.
To make the evening even more special, W. Brother Paul Withams, nephew of Ken Burton, travelled up from Essex to present his uncle with a 60-year certificate from the Province of Essex, and also an engraved decanter as a personal gift from Tutela Lodge to mark the event.
There was a final surprise when Dave then promoted Ken to the rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in Lincolnshire to match the rank he had received previously in Essex.
Also present were Hundred of Elloe Lodge members W. Bros John Holmes and George Fieldsend, both of whom had previously received 60-year certificates.
