A century of golfing and giving money to charity have been celebrated by members of the Lincolnshire Freemasons’ Golfing Association raising £5,329 at a landmark competition in Skegness.
That means members of the Association have given more than £50,000 to charity during their 100-year existence, which was celebrated with a competition at the Seacroft course in Skegness – one of the first venues they used a century ago.
Half of the Skegness funds will be given to the Lincolnshire 2025 Festival; half to other charities, which have yet to be chosen
Spokesman Barrie Graham said: “Wow, fabulous support for the Lincolnshire Masonic Golf Association’s Centenary Event at Seacroft. Thanks to all for their support!
“More than 20 people have taken the trouble to get in touch after the event to say how much they enjoyed it.
“Forty four-balls went out, and there was a great prize table worth over £1,500 with amazing prizes in the raffle draw too – including a weekend at the five-star Palacio Hotel in Estoril, Portugal including golf and spa treatment. Well done all involved. This will take us to over £50,000 raised by the Association in its 100 year’s existence.”
