Diners at the Ladies Festival organised by Lindum Lodge contributed to a donation of £1,003 for St Barnabas Hospice. Lodge Master Baz Parkin and his wife Mary had chosen to help the hospice after the support given to family friend Helen Bullen, who passed away in January 2019.
Baz said: “Our friend Helen Bullen was stunned when she was diagnosed with an incurable form of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in February 2018, but we saw for ourselves how the palliative care provided by St Barnabas allowed her to spend quality time with her family and to enjoy her life to the very end. She sadly passed away in January 2019, and we would like to think that other people in her situation may be able to benefit from the money we have raised in her memory.”
Rebecca Hooton accepted the donation on the Hospice’s behalf. She said: “This is a fantastic amount, and will provide many hours of dignified and compassionate care to people living with a life-limiting or terminal illness, and we would like to give a huge thank you for your generosity.”
The Ladies Festival took place at the Bentley Hotel in Lincoln, and was attended by 115 people.
