Feeling lost and alone after a year of treatment for breast cancer Scunthorpe woman Joanne Sowerby and a couple of friends and created Bosom Family Support – and it’s now more than a support group.
It has its own drop-in centre called Hope House, has developed a support network for the children of breast cancer sufferers, which it calls Life Rafts, and has created the Bosom Belles Choir.
This has been achieved because of significant demand, and Hope House is now busy almost daily, with activities, advice, and counselling being offered.
The organisation generates its own funds, but is also grateful for donations, like the one presented on behalf of The Lodge of St John in Scunthorpe by WM Barry Bradshaw, which was accepted by Joanne.
