Keen to wipe out some of the disappointment caused by Covid cancelling 16-year-old Joe James’ Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme project Freemasons from Market Rasen’s Bayons Lodge have part-funded an alternative trip for him.
A donation of £100 will help Joe with volunteering work in Croatia. He’ll be going there next week on a venture organised by the International Volunteer Headquarters campaign, and will be volunteering with an organised group involved in shoreline clean up work to get rid of plastics in ap articular bay area blighted by the problem.
Neil Hollingsworth, who handed Joe the money with fellow member Jeff Stephenson, said: “The Bayons Lodge members were keen to help Joe in his quest to raise the funds required to undertake this work, and he has promised to report back to us with the details of his mission when he returns in time to start his 6th Form studies at De Aston School in Market Rasen.”
