Bayons Lodge Freemasons in Market Rasen have added their support to care for children faced with the traumatic experience of visiting hospital by funding the long-running Teddies For Loving Care scheme to the tune of £762.
The scheme has so far given more than three and a half million bears to children throughout England and Wales, and is led in Lincoln by Graham Cadel, known as The Teddy Man.
The money for another batch of bears came from the Rasen Freemasons’ 100 Club. It was set up to raise extra money to help pay the loan back for their car park. Bayons Lodge member Nathan Barnes said: “We split money raise three ways: the car park, charity and prize money for the draw. Our member Jeff Stephenson chose the charity after it supported his own grandchild.”
Graham Cadel said: “The money will be used to continue to expand the charity across the Province of Lincolnshire, providing teddies for more children attending A&E, Urgent Care Centres and undergoing MRIs, providing comfort at distressing times.
“We are very grateful to the members of the Market Rasen lodge for their support – it is only with the help of guys like this, their families and friends, that we can do what we do.”
