Organisers of the Province’s Masons and Motors event are holding back from setting wheels in motion to run the event as planned in late July because of uncertainty about restrictions around Covid.
“Even though vaccinations are taking place, signalling light at the end of the tunnel, it’s just too early for us to make any kind of firm commitment and set the planning in motion,” says organiser Dave Gibson from St Lawrence Lodge in Scunthorpe. “We hope to be able to stage an event of some kind later this year, but we won’t be breaking any rules to do it. That means we shall have to wait and see the nature of any restrictions, and work within them. We’ll be in touch with update as soon as they become available.”
The event will take place at Doddington Hall near Lincoln, which has been chosen partly because of its central location, but also because of the quality of the venue. Said Dave: “It offers lots to see and do, with large open spaces, pleasant walks, shops, and the hall and gardens to explore. Those who’ve been will know it well; those who haven’t are in for a treat.”
