On the same day round Britain Walker Chris Jones has passed two significant milestones on his epic coastal trip – 4,000 miles walked and £40,000 raised in sponsorship.
And with the promise of an end to the rain that’s plagued him for the last few days Chris intends to mark the milestones by taking time out to rest and recuperate on the north Cornish coast.
Chris left Skegness on New Year’s Day 2023, aiming to walk the entire coastline and raise £100,000 for our #Lincs2025 Festival in support of the MCF, whose counselling service brought him back from the brink of suicide.
He headed north into Scotland and then Cumbria, the Lakes, and Wales. Crossing the Severn Bridge was a memorable day too: “There was something special about walking back into England,” he said.
Freemasons in Tintagel meet in King Arthur’s Hall, of which Chris says: “By far, the most impressive WM’s seat I’ve seen in a lodge, apart from the big chair at Freemasons Hall, of course.”
Chris now chronicles his journey on YouTube, where you can watch his story at this link.
