A light railway open day staged by Lincolnshire’s Freemasons at the invitation of Robert Holland has taken us at least £1,500 closer to our five-year ambition to raise £2.25m for our charity the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
The venue was Robert’s Ropsley Heath Light Railway, where PGM Dave Wheeler, complete with safety glasses and a fetching ‘Casey Jones’ hat, was allowed to drive steam engine Nimrod – closely supervised by Robert.
Said Dave: “Huge thanks to Robert for opening up his grounds and steam railway, and the Provincial Stewards Lodge, which combined to make it a very happy day for us. It was a fabulous day, and Robert says we can it all again next year! Amazing!”
