Harnessing the power of walking to boost physical and mental health, members of two lodges have started a walking group.
Pilgrim Fathers Lodge member Dave Sharpe writes: “This is a new idea to get brethren from lodges to network, exercise, appreciate the beauty of the great outdoors and benefit mental health in the gloom of winter.
“Our first outing was a Peak District eight-mile loop from Hope, taking in Loose Hill, Mam Tor, Winatts Pass, Castleton, and finishing with some hearty food and a thirst-quenching beer.
“The group is open to all Freemasons from across the Province who are able, and who fancy a decent walk with a huge helping of laughter followed by good grub to finish.”
On the first walk the walkers were David Sharpe, David Russell, and Paddy Chessum from Pilgrim Fathers, and Andrew Wells St Botolph’s Lodge in Sleaford.
