After a £500 cheque for the charity first nominated by Freemasons of Sleaford-based Daedalus Lodge was lost in the post and the Charity was declared bankrupt, another charity was chosen – and this time the donation went without a hitch.
Recipient was the Prostate Cancer Support Group, whose representative Sean Harper – himself in recovery from the ailment – accepted the cheque from Lodge Master Rob Huckerby. Looking on are, left, Bob Chalklin and Nick Pym.
A number of Lincolnshire brethren who had the PSA test at the Provincial Grand
lodge meetings last year required further treatment, and the exercise will be repeated in May. You don’t have to attend either of the day’s meetings to book in for a test, and details of how to do that will be published in due course.
The £500 was a donation from Lincolnshire Freemasons’ Mew Provincial Benevolent Fund, which gives each of Lincolnshire’s 76 Lodges that amount to donate to the good cause of their choice each year.
