Lincolnshire Masonic Golf Association members have surprised PGM Dave Wheeler by making a donation of £500 to the #Lincs2025 Festival in aid of the Freemasons’ charity the MCF.
The Association was represented by its Secretary Mick Wright of Pharos Lodge in Scunthorpe, at the Lodge’s installation ceremony. In the picture are, from left, Dave Wheeler, new WM Dave West, and Mick Wright, all holding one of the Association’s magnificent trophies.
Details of how to enter the competitions planned for this year, as well as how to join the Association, which will be 100 years old next year, are on its Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/lincsfreemasonsgolf
Mick Wright said: “Our Province has a proud golfing heritage. One of our founders, Mr Stafford Vere Hotchkin, was the course architect who remodelled the now world-famous Hotchkin Golf Course in the 1920s at Woodhall Spa, the course having been originally designed by Harry Colt. “This year we have five Masonic golf competitions to be played throughout the County, with seventeen trophies to be won. Freemasons compete for the trophies but non-Masonic guests are also very welcome and compete for separate prizes. Since the Association was formed we’ve raised over £46,000, and by our centenary event in 2023 we are on track to top £50,000.
