Freemasons from Spilsby-based Eccles Lodge responded to a radio appeal and transformed the kitchen for a the town’s scout group.
Richard Simpson from Ecccles Lodge explained: “We agreed to take the project on after I heard Gemma Hollands’s appeal on the radio.
”Not only did we strip out the old kitchen and fit a new one, but we gave the group a £500 donation from the Freemasons’ New Provincial Benevolent Fund.
”Just like Freemasonry itself, the project was a team effort, because we couldn’t have done it without the help of Turnbulls in Horncastle, who provided the kitchen.
“We couldn’t have done it without the help of Michael Pryden, Matt Webb, Simon Eyre, and Ken Tempest on rubbish clearing duty. It was a pleasure for us all to give something back to the community.”
