In an historical move the governing body of Rose Croix has decided to amend the requirement for candidates wishing to join by dropping the requirement to profess the Trinitarian Christian Faith.
The move will take effect from March next year and, it is said, opens the door of this friendly and meaningful Order to followers of all faiths, instead of restricting it exclusively to those with a Christian background and upbringing.
It’s said that the metaphor of the ritual of the Order uses the journey of Jesus through his life and death, through darkness into light – a general theme reflected in most other Faiths and doctrines. Head of the Order in Lincolnshire is Trevor Clingan, who says it makes sense for us all to walk alongside each other and share that meaningful ethos that encourages us to be good and kind.
“Considerable discussion, and informative consultation has been taking place at the highest level for years. There will be minimal changes in ritual to reflect this decision, but I am very pleased to report that those changes will be minimal.”
Trevor added: “The Order will continue to be governed by the fundamental principles of Christianity. All that is changing is that we are now able to include Brethren from other Faiths, who share those solid principles with us.”
