Duncan Wells, Almoner of Welland Lodge in Spalding, has presented a cheque for £500 from the Lincolnshire’s New Provincial Benevolent Fund to Christine Robbins, Coordinator of the Lincolnshire Branch of the British Sjogren’s Syndrome Association (BSSA) along with his wife Gillian, who is a member of the BSSA.
The donation will be used to further the ongoing investigation into the cause and treatment of Sjogren’s syndrome – an autoimmune disease that effects various parts of the body. It is often first noticed by people suffering from a dryness to the mouth and eyes, gritty feeling to the eyes, and skin irritation with no obvious signs.
For more information go to www.bssa.uk.net. or the BSSA helpline 0121 478 1133.
