Fifteen years’ work developing the role of members of Lincolnshire’s Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge at our annual meetings has earned John Lambert our Province’s 20th PGM’s Certificate of Merit.
PGM Dave Wheeler sprang the surprise on John at the first Provincial team visit of the year at the Stewards Lodge. He said: “Since 2008, John has managed the team of Stewards looking after the Provincial meetings at the Lincolnshire Showground.
“Originally, the Stewards duties were just car parking; but over the last 15 years those duties have increased to include meeting and greeting our distinguished guests, seeing them through registration and escorting them to their appropriate robing rooms; helping to collect alms; assisting the Directors of Ceremonies of both Chapter and Craft; escorting Companions and Brethren to be invested; along with other duties.
“Their work and commitment ensures that both meetings run smoothly, including transport all the furniture and ephemera that is required. John also took on the task, along with others, of maintaining the gardens at the Grimsby Masonic Hall with the results for all to enjoy.”
The festive board after the meeting was attended by 75 brethren.
