A packed Christmas Lindis Lodge saw one of its members receive a certicate marking fifty years in Freemasonry. A somewhat suprised Bruce Marriott was called out onto the floor of the Lodge to join his very good friend Jim Tryner who, with the permission of the Worshipful Master, proceeded to give a potted history of Bruce’s Masonic achievements before presenting him with a certificate marking fifty years of membership within the Craft, having been Initiated into the Lindis Lodge on the 18th December 1969. Bruce is currently Almoner of Lindis Lodge and has always played an active role within the Lodge over his fifty years. His beaming smile and good company typify the best qualities of Freemasonry. To mark his achievement and acknowledge the very high esteem in which Bruce is held by his fellow Brethren, the Worshipful Master, Bro Cliff Garrett presented Bruce with a gift from the Lodge, which was nicely wrapped in Christmas paper and looked suspiciously like a new regalia case.
