Briggs’s Ancholme Lodge has given £500 to Scunthorpe Sea Cadets, and organisation which provide fantastic opportunities for the young people of our area.
The Cadet ethos is that through various activities and adventures, the young people learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of themselves. Says Ancholme Lodge Worshipful Master David Hurst, who. made the presentation: “These are all traits we admired in Freemasonry, and we are therefore incredibly pleased to support them for another year with a donation of £500.”
David was accompanied by Charity Steward Trevor Mason and Treasurer Robert Kitching. They were honoured with a parade and invited to inspect the unit. Afterwards, they were shown a variety of activities that the cadets undertake such as radio skills and first aid. “The cadets are a credit to the area!,” added David.
