The experience of going to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital will be a little less traumatic for children thanks to the generosity of Freemasons from the Lodge of Harmony in the town.
They’ve delivered a big box of teddies to be shared on a one-to-one basis with children needing treatment or attending appointments.
The bears are part of the Teddies For Loving Care scheme, which has so far given more than a whopping three million bears to UK hospitals.
This latest delivery saw W.Bro Kemp, the current Master of the Lodge of Harmony, and Secretary W.Bro Holmes staggering under the weight of the first supplies of bears for the hospital.
Lincoln Freemason Graham ‘Mr Teddy’ Cadel, who leads the TLC effort in Lincolnshire, said the delivery was made possible only by the generosity of The Lodge of Harmony and its members. He said: “In the potentially worrying or even frightening situation of a hospital visit, the emotional support offered to children by one of these little bears should never be underestimated.”
