Cleethorpes Freemasons of Apollo Lodge have cared for the carers with a donation of £500 to the The Carers’ Support Centre.
It’s an charity dedicated to looking out for unpaid carers. That’s anyone of any age in North East Lincolnshire who looks after to look after a child, relative, partner, friend, or neighbour in need of help because they have an illness, disability, frailty or substance misuse problem.
It doesn’t matter what kind of care is needed; the centre aims to provide targeted support, be it personal, emotional, practical or supervisory.
Lodge Master Lee Arthur said: “The Carers’ Support Centre offers support in many ways, including giving assistance to carers through their hospital liaison representative. This is a wonderful charity providing support for many people who initially didn’t recognise they were actually carers, and have found it to be invaluable in giving guidance or sometimes just someone to talk too.
“On behalf of the members of the Lodge John Leary and I had great pleasure in presenting a cheque to Sue White and Helen Noble of the Carers’ Support Centre.”
The donation is one of more than 70 given to worthy causes of all kinds throughout Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, and North East Lincolnshire. The money comes from a fund contributed to by almost 3,000 Freemasons through donations, raffles, and social events. Said Charity Steward Paul Ellis: “These donations are just one of the ways Freemasons help to improve the quality of life for people in the communities in which we meet, and from which our members are drawn.”
