The best of the magnificent sounds of which the refurbished Willis organ in Freemasons’ Hall is capable will be drawn from it in a concert featuring the playing of Duncan MacKenzie, who has been playing at the Odeon Leicester Square for 20 years.
The world-famous organist and world-famous organ will come together for UGLE’s final organ concert of 2022 at 6pm on November 9th.
Donald MacKenzie is one of Europe’s finest organists and has been performing since 1988. His illustrious career has included numerous Royal Film Performances, several of which were in the presence of the late Queen.
MacKenzie will be adding the Grand Temple at Freemasons’ Hall to the long list of prestigious venues he has performed at, including his long association with the world-famous Odeon, Leicester Square, Compton Organ since 1992. When he is not playing for concerts, Donald specialises in the art of improvised accompaniments to silent films. He was also engaged to play the organ for five weeks before each performance of the Disney film Aladdin.
