‘Thank you for your kindness’, Hospice tells Lincolnshire Freemasons

Continued support of Freemasons for St Barnabas Hospice is fantastic, says the organisation’s Grants and Trusts Fundraiser Julia Bowness.
In a heartfelt thank you letter she says: “This year has been a challenging year for the whole world. However, organisations such as yourselves which support our vision in helping those in need, ensuring equitable, accessible care for all, is fantastic.
“High quality Hospice care is paramount to ensure compassionate, well-rounded care delivery. The Freemasons have been so kind in supporting us not only during the 2020 pandemic, but also previously. Without the support they have shown, many of our services would not have been delivered to such a high standard.”
She said the Hospice aligned its values to the same principles followed by the Freemasons, of integrity, kindness, honesty, and fairness and work for the family unit alongside the individual. “It is wonderful that you continue to support us, and we are truly thankful for that, it means so much. We continue to maintain our Outstanding Hospice CQC rating, and that is because of supportive individuals like yourselves, ensuring the patients and their families get the care they deserve. Maintaining our core service delivery is paramount to ensure this continues, thank you.”
Lincolnshire’s Provincial Grand Master Dave Wheeler said it was right to focus Freemasons’ charitable giving not just on the amount of money donated to a range of causes, but more especially on the outcomes achieved because of it. “This letter from St Barnabas Hospice is the perfect example of what our donations mean to communities, and what can be achieved with our help,” he said. “There can be few amongst us who don’t know someone who has been helped by the Hospice movement at some time or other, which is why, through a number of routes, Freemasons have given almost £8,000 to St Barnabas Hospice over the last year.
“When Freemasons focus on the good their donations can do they continue to step up and offer support, such as within our #Lincs2025 Festival. The money we’ve been able to give to St Barnabas this year was raised through the generosity of Freemasons in previous festivals; donations made to #Lincs2025, through which we aspire to raise £2.25m over five years for the Freemasons charity the MCF, will ensure that similar donations can be made in the future.”
